The Role

  • HSQE Advisor (Client Rep)
  • 6 month + Contract
  • 2 on, 2 off rotation
  • Offshore

Job Purpose

To provide efficient, timely and professional face to face support to the HSEQ team, supporting the HSEQ services to the business.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Provide professional first point of contact for the HSEQ Department, providing first line advice and coaching to managers and employees on health, safety, welfare, environmental and quality issues
  • Provide HSEQ presence on designated business sites, supporting with such things as HSEQ inductions, inspections, audits, direct engagement, workforce coaching and risk assessment
  • Support in a face to face and administrational capacity all aspects of health, safety, welfare, environmental and quality management
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, approved codes of practice, British & International Standards and industry guidance and communicate any new or changes to existing requirements
  • Promotion and development of a positive health & safety culture
  • Supporting the development of management improvement plans and with the monitoring and implementation of actions raised during the operations
  • Promote awareness of site rules and controls, provide technical support where required to ensure compliance with site requirements
  • Ensure risk management is effectively implemented and monitor compliance
  • Attend safety meetings, HIRAs, lessons learnt reviews etc. as required
  • Reporting and investigation of accidents & incidents
  • Collation of data for HSEQ KPI and statistical analysis reporting
  • Input into the continuing development of corporate HSEQ documentation
  • Development and implementation of project bridging documents, HSE plans, emergency response plans, quality and inspection & test plans and risk assessments
  • Development and delivery of health & safety inductions and familiarisation programmes for new projects and worksite
  • Carrying out site visits, inspections and audits, including offshore worksites
  • Conducting internal audits in accordance with the audit schedule
  • Ensuring HSE actions, non-conformities, observations and opportunities for improvement raised are actioned and implemented as required in a timely manner
  • Liaison with Site Supervisors, Technicians and subcontractors on health, safety, environmental, welfare and quality issues
  • Liaison with Client HSEQ department during the planning and completion of project operations to ensure compliance with project requirements
  • Conducting supplier competence assessments and audits
  • Identification of HSEQ training needs for staff

Other Tasks / General

  • Provide input and support to pre-qualification and tendering activities through completion of HSEQ requirements in a timely manner
  • Assisting with the maintenance of online databases, such as FPAL / UVDB to ensure HSEQ information is up to date and accurate
  • Undertake any other reasonable ad hoc duties as and when required

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum NEBOSH Certificate
  • Offshore survival and medical beneficial
  • Minimum 5 years relevant and similar capacity in HSEQ role preferably in Offshore Wind / Oil & Gas industries within the marine and/or subsea sectors
  • Previous experience with IRATA rope access operations beneficial
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, oral; written and presentation
  • Strong IT skills for communication and documentation (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to be self-driven, a self-starter and work alone
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a high volume of work
  • Pro-active
